The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially released the detailed notification for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XVI) to recruit Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT) for the 2027–28 placement cycle. A total of 7,365 vacancies have been announced across 11 participating public sector banks. Vacancy & Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a Graduation Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Valid mark sheets and degree certificates indicating percentage of marks must be available at the time of online registration.
Age Limit (As on July 01, 2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Upper age limit relaxations apply for reserved categories: SC/ST (5 years), OBC-NCL (3 years), PwBD (10 years), and Ex-Servicemen (5 years).
Application Fee
- SC / ST / PwBD Candidates: ₹175 (inclusive of GST)
- General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹850 (inclusive of GST)
Selection Process
- Phase 1: Online Preliminary Examination: Objective paper carrying 100 marks across English Language (30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 marks), and Reasoning Ability (35 marks) with sectional timing totaling 60 minutes.
- Phase 2: Online Main Examination: Objective test (200 marks) evaluating Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, followed by a Descriptive Test (25 marks) for Essay and Letter Writing.
- Phase 3: Personality Test & Interview: A mandatory personality assessment followed by a structured personal interview carrying 100 marks conducted by participating banks.
- Document Verification & Provisional Allotment: Verification of candidate credentials followed by final merit allocation to participating public sector banks.
How to Apply Online
- Visit the IBPS Official Portal.
- Click on “CRP PO/MT” on the homepage and select “Common Recruitment Process for Probationary Officers / Management Trainees XVI”.
- Click on “Click here for New Registration” to generate a Registration Number and Password.
- Log in and fill in educational credentials, personal details, and participating bank preferences.
- Upload scanned images of photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, and live photograph capture as specified.
- Pay the applicable application fee online via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
- Submit the application form before the July 21, 2026 deadline and retain a printout of the confirmation page.
