IBPS PO Recruitment 2026: Vacancies, Eligibility & Apply Online


The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially released the detailed notification for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XVI) to recruit Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT) for the 2027–28 placement cycle. A total of 7,365 vacancies have been announced across 11 participating public sector banks. Interested candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in any discipline can register online through the official portal.

Vacancy & Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a Graduation Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  • Valid mark sheets and degree certificates indicating percentage of marks must be available at the time of online registration.

Age Limit (As on July 01, 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 Years
  • Maximum Age: 30 Years
  • Upper age limit relaxations apply for reserved categories: SC/ST (5 years), OBC-NCL (3 years), PwBD (10 years), and Ex-Servicemen (5 years).

Application Fee

  • SC / ST / PwBD Candidates: ₹175 (inclusive of GST)
  • General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹850 (inclusive of GST)

Selection Process

  1. Phase 1: Online Preliminary Examination: Objective paper carrying 100 marks across English Language (30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 marks), and Reasoning Ability (35 marks) with sectional timing totaling 60 minutes.
  2. Phase 2: Online Main Examination: Objective test (200 marks) evaluating Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, followed by a Descriptive Test (25 marks) for Essay and Letter Writing.
  3. Phase 3: Personality Test & Interview: A mandatory personality assessment followed by a structured personal interview carrying 100 marks conducted by participating banks.
  4. Document Verification & Provisional Allotment: Verification of candidate credentials followed by final merit allocation to participating public sector banks.

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit the IBPS Official Portal.
  2. Click on “CRP PO/MT” on the homepage and select “Common Recruitment Process for Probationary Officers / Management Trainees XVI”.
  3. Click on “Click here for New Registration” to generate a Registration Number and Password.
  4. Log in and fill in educational credentials, personal details, and participating bank preferences.
  5. Upload scanned images of photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, and live photograph capture as specified.
  6. Pay the applicable application fee online via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
  7. Submit the application form before the July 21, 2026 deadline and retain a printout of the confirmation page.
